Yellow Nipper

A Yellow Nipper hiding in a rock crevice with lots of eggs. She probably released the eggs later when she had more privacy.

Releasing eggs

The next big wave carried this Robber crab's eggs into the ocean properly.

Shakin' it

This Robber crab hung her tail out over the rock. Every time a wave came, she did a little shake. It took her a few times to release all her eggs.

Bursting

We went to Ethel beach last night to watch Robber crabs releasing their eggs into the ocean. They are much more timid than red crabs so we had to be careful not to get too close and disturb them. They are also present in much fewer numbers because they don't all go at the same time. They release their eggs over a few nights during December, January and February.

Munch munch

Simon eating the "S"

Birthday Muffins

I managed to keep these muffins a secret right up to the end :-) I was going to do 50 but decided there would be way too many left over!

Dancing

Simon and I always have a great time when we dance together - but it's extra fun in dress-up!

Bouncers!

No, not the security guard type - the punk dancer type :-)

Punk Rocker

Simon dancing up a sweat!

Bar Gang

Girls Gang

Mark

Mark was manic! The Jeckel really came out of this Hyde LOL!

Punked out

We took our coloured hairspray to the party and did a couple of the guys up.

Scott & Jan

Kane & Tara

I love photographing Kane and Tara - they always look so fantastic!

Couple Punks

Posing together at the party. The backdrop is black plastic that we stuck up and spray painted.

Role model

We laughed at the example Kane was setting his young son by painting his nails black. Nicholous was more interested in my camera "flash" though.

Spiked

Enough hairspray and jel to make his hair dangerous! Those spikes could poke an eye out LOL!

Blue!

Has Simon just joined the "blue-rinse" set?

Shave

Our friend Tara used to run her own Hairdressing business. She agreed to do Simon's mohawk for his 50th Birthday Punk/Glam Rock Party. The timing was almost perfect for the Big Shave next weekend to raise funds for Cancer.

Girls

Chris, Karen and Sharon went with me to Anderson's Dale. All three are nurses so I'm the odd one out - the photographer behind the lens :-)

Sunlit Web

Shafts of light everywhere this morning! This spider web was very eye catching with the sun on it.

Light Shafts

These shafts of light looked very striking as they filtered down from the canopy above Anderson's Dale.

Anderson's Dale

Anderson's Dale is a stream that runs down to the ocean.

Slippery Dip Roots

Karen went for a slide down these roots on her bum :-)

Morning Light

Friends and I left early in the morning to go down to Anderson's Dale. The light coming through the trees was magical.

Proud Lads

Simon, Mark and Kane with their haul of Wahoo. The boat is Kane's newest baby.

The Big Catch

Simon's first Wahoo! He is a bit sore and bruised now because the rod slipped out of his belt onto his leg. He thinks it was all worth it though.
